Ron Southern Photography is a brand-new photography company based in Portland Oregon and started by me, Ron Southern
I am a 42-year-old part-time photographer living in Portland Oregon with my son and my beautiful fiancé Nicole. I am also an FAA-certified aircraft mechanic who has been working for the last 12 years as a parts assembler for a major aircraft manufacturer, and due to a recent mid-life crisis, I have decided that there is no way in hell I am going to spend another 20-25 years in that profession. Instead, I am working hard on turning my hobbies and passions into a full-time career.
I am mostly focused on landscape photography but I am also interested in wildlife, street, architectural, and automotive photography and will hopefully have some good examples of those genres in my gallery soon.
In addition to photography, I am also starting a blog! Since I am just now starting this business, I have a unique opportunity to use my blog as a way to document my entire journey from beginning amateur just starting out, to successful full-time landscape photographer and blogger as it happens, instead of as a recap of what worked for someone a few years ago when they did it. It will contain my current gear lists, reviews of new gear and locations, as well as posts about my successes and more importantly my failures so that someone else on a similar journey might learn from my mistakes.
I also have an online store where any of my images can be purchased as art prints on a variety of materials as well as a wide array of other products.
